Every year, an estimated 400 million dry erase markers are thrown away. For this project, my partner Grant Terry and I asked a simple question: what if they didn't have to be? Tasked with redesigning the iconic Expo marker, we set out to reimagine it as something built to last. Through thoughtful exploration of color, material, and finish, we crafted a refillable "forever pen" — a marker that honors the familiarity of the original while offering a more sustainable, dignified alternative to the throwaway culture it was born from.
